Hsu Academic Calendar 2023 24
Hsu Academic Calendar 2023 24 – In recent months, Humboldt County has seen an increase in cases of COVID-19, jumping from red to purple. Humboldt State University took immediate action on December 11, 2020, rescheduling the spring semester until the start of 2021.
Before it changed to spring break, HSU students who left the university's dorms were scheduled to return on January 15. However, these changes does not provide a way for direct problem solving as discussed by HSU teachers and student representatives. The event is unprecedented to change management options.

With the spring break in February, students who receive less face-to-face instruction will be able to separate before attending school. This is designed to ensure that the study of face-to-face studies, such as spending two weeks in isolation after the end of the semester, will run uninterrupted .
"We feel that this change is necessary to protect the health and safety of our school community, but also to try to see how we can maintain integrity of face-to-face learning," Capps said.

Roman Sotomayor, chairman of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Education Committee, commented on the spring drop.
"Our group's plan is to cancel the entire spring semester like other schools in California have done. In our meeting with Dr. Capps, we could not agree on what to do. There's a lot of different advice," Sotomayor said.
"I'm really looking forward to spring break in the middle of almost everything, the fall Thanksgiving [break] is almost over, it's really hard for me." said Franziska Daumberger, a transfer student of environmental engineering.

Kinyon Moore, an ocean agriculture researcher, expressed frustration with the new date for spring break and said he would not like it.

"With school, it will be difficult after the spring break because we will go for a long time without a break, long classes, and especially since it is online, it will be messy high," Moore said.
Although HSU will be empty throughout January, students will return to school on February 19 after a two-week quarantine.
