While Lim hosted his last tea to connect with students, Cowley continued to make progress on filling UTA's top leadership positions, launching a national search for a new athletic director on March 22.

The search culminated that summer with the hiring of then associate athletics director John Fagg from the University of Arkansas. Cowley, who competes in several track and field events, said Fagg has good ideas to make the student body more active and promote more athletic events, such as theme nights and a winning program.

"It's thinking about the timing of the Games and what opportunities we have for partnerships that generate more excitement and energy," she said.
