"Paris is one of the most exciting places for students to study dance technique and film, and this program offers fantastic opportunities for our students to position themselves as dancers and immerse themselves in another culture."

This year's program is in charge of Assistant Professor Kehinde Ishangi, and her personal experience from being in France shows that she can guide students through the month-long program.

"After receiving my MFA from the FSU School of Dance in 2007, I moved to France where I lived as a dance artist for four years. It is a great pleasure to share the beautiful city of Paris with the program participants," said Ishangi. Through the Dance in Paris program, I was able to teach several hip-hop classes and explore many different dance aesthetics in Paris. The month-long curriculum includes a ballet performance at the Palais Garnier or the Opéra Bastille, a guided walking tour of Montmartre, visits to famous Parisian museums such as the Louvre and much more. Students will live in comfortable accommodation at the Cité Universitaire, an international campus built and managed by countries around the world.

The program is open to FSU dance majors as well as dance majors from other universities and FSU non-dance majors with an upper intermediate level in dance technique. Due to the performance nature of this program, these students will be required to submit audition materials and must be approved by the program director.

Torrance Center Summer Institute

Applications are now open at international.fsu.edu and must be submitted by January 9. Early applications are encouraged as program applications are limited and offers are accepted on a rolling basis.

Dance students can apply for Summer Study Awards to support their participation in the Dance in Paris program and other summer experiences thanks to donors from Friends of Dance and the Nellie Bond Dickinson and Mary B. Settle Dance Endowment Fund. Since its inception in 2002, the Dickinson/Settle Awards have been presented to more than 100 students. The awards are named for Nellie-Bond Dickinson and Mary B. Settle, who served on the faculty of Florida State University for Women in the Department of Physical Education. Dickinson is credited with bringing modern dance to FSCW/FSU and to Tallahassee, and both worlds have shaped the lives of hundreds of young people through his work. excellent teaching and leadership for best educational practice.

Anna Abrahámová, Ph.D. is the E. Paul Torrance Professor and director of the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development at the University of Georgia. It examines the psychological and neurophysiological mechanisms underlying creativity and imagination. She is the author of the 2018 book, Neuroscience of Creativity (Cambridge University Press).

Karrah Bowman studied psychology at Florida State University. She is currently a second-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on developing the educational environment to improve outcomes for autistic students.

Xiao-Yin Chen is a PhD student in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. Her research examines motivation in educational settings, focusing primarily on how social influences (such as teachers, role models, and peers) can support student motivation. Its primary goal is to support students who are marginalized in college (eg, women in STEM, first-generation college students, and/or historically marginalized racial/ethnic students). Her work is based on her experiences growing up in eastern Kentucky in Appalachia as a second-generation Chinese-American.

Catherine Citta is an educational consultant with a focus on special education and disabilities. She has experience teaching in birth-to-kindergarten settings, teaching course design at the university level, and designing and teaching continuing professional development at the state and local levels. As an individual with a disability and licensed social worker, Catherine provides unique perspectives on the design and implementation of instruction related to the education of others.

Ai-Chu Elisha Ding is an Assistant Professor of Learning, Design and Technology in the Department of Workforce Education and Educational Technology at the University of Georgia. Her research examines technology integration and innovative and equitable professional development in K-12 education. She has researched the use of game-based learning (GBL), virtual reality (VR) and elementary programming in elementary school education. She worked closely with pre-service teachers and research teachers on their professional development and technology integration.

Dr. is an associate professor of school psychology in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. Sycamore Fisher. Dr. Fisher Research Risk and Protective Factors Associated with Minority Mental Health and Substance Abuse. In addition, Dr. Fisher conducts community-based participatory research in collaboration with local school districts and local governments to further advance access to evidence-based mental health and substance abuse interventions for minority populations.

Ashley Harrison is an associate professor in the school psychology program at UGA's Mary Frances College of Early Education. Dr. Harrison's research focuses on identifying mechanisms that contribute to disparities in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) services. dr. Harrison directs the ASD diagnostic clinic within the school's psychology clinic and serves as the school's psychology program coordinator.

Faith Harvieux is a 5th grade teacher and social-emotional learning leader at Winn Holt Elementary School in Gwinnett County and is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational psychology at UGA. Growing up, Faith struggled with anxiety and found that the support provided in the education system did not help her achieve her goals. She is committed to making sure every student is comfortable at school and ready to learn.

Sakhavat Mammadov is an Associate Professor of Creative and Creative Education in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. William & Mary earned a doctorate in gifted education. His main research interests include gifted and talented children's social and emotional experiences and well-being, motivation in learning contexts, personality and creativity.

He is a Ph.D. Alexina Pilo is in the 3rd. student in the Counseling Psychology Program at UGA. Alexina recently served as a graduate student in UGA's Future Faculty Fellows program and has given several guest lectures and courses at various institutions, including UGA. Alexa's teaching interests include culturally sensitive teaching methods, mentoring, teaching for all students, engaging classroom environments, and teacher and student well-being.

Eastern Florida State College

Ashleigh Pipes teaches at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. There is a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Georgetown University and has taught linguistics, communication, and ESL courses at home and abroad. She presented her research on creativity and other individual differences in second language learning at conferences in Belgium, Brazil, Finland, Poland and Turkey.

Desiree Sharpe is the program coordinator for the UGA Torrance Center. DR. Sharpe Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Georgia with a concentration in behavioral neuroendocrinology and cognitive neuroscience. He currently conducts scoring workshops for the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking and continuing education
