Set the printer settings to print on both sides and print the Moon Phases Calendar and Calculator layout, preferably on heavy paper or card stock. Note: Printing is recommended as copying may cause errors.

Change previous year's calendar: To update the previous year's calendar, print the new calendar wheel and view pages 1-2 and 5-6 of the PDF. Don't forget to save your moon face wheel (within the shaded areas) and last year's moon and moon panels! If the moon and moon panels are too difficult to remove from last year's calendar, you may want to replace them with a new 3-4 page PDF.

Before cutting anything, use your knowledge of the Moon to shade the phases of the Moon Phases cycle by name. If you are not familiar with moon phases, do a moon journal first.

Replace last year's calendar: Remove the brass clip from last year's calendar and set it aside. Keep the moon phase wheel aside. Remove the moonset panels and moonrise panels attached to the observation wheel and set them aside. Recycle more! If the moon and moon panels are too difficult to remove from last year's calendar, you may want to replace them with a new 3-4 page PDF.

Change last year's calendar: Cut a new Ferris wheel. If necessary, cut the replacement moonset and moonrise panels. At this stage, you should have a total of five sections:

4. Punch a hole Use a hole punch to create a "view from space" hole in the Ferris wheel.

5. Attach the Moon sign and Moon Rising panel to the wheel sign as shown on the back of the card.

6. Punch a pilot hole in the center of all three wheels with a hole punch pencil.

7. Combine the moon phase calendar and calculator by placing the moon phase wheel above the calendar wheel, then the space wheel above. Use brass clamps to connect all three wheels to the hub.

Choose the day on which you want to know which part of the moon is visible and what you will see. (Note: The calendar wheel shows the days on which the phases of the moon occur in the Pacific time zone.) On the calendar wheel, note the phase of the moon that appears on this day. Rotate the phases of the moon wheel until the phase of the moon matches the phase of the moon on the calendar wheel. Use the "WorldView" command to set both compatibility fields.
