Ut Academic Calendar Fall 2023 – Understanding the Fall Schedule and Course Types Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has changed the academic calendar and course format.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Utah State University is offering five class types for the fall 2020 semester. It has also modified its schedule based on input from public health and infectious disease experts.

The class, which is delivered online, is primarily delivered through Canvas, with over 80 percent of required learning activities being completed digitally if the student so chooses. There will also be a change to the class schedule this fall. The term will end a week earlier than planned – the last day for finals is December 11, 2020 – so there will be no fall break. However, there will be two weeks in the middle of the semester – September. October 9, 28, 2020 – When classes are not being held on campus, and all courses will be taught remotely. The change is based on recommendations from University Health epidemiologists, who say in-person resting will be "key" to helping reduce the spread of COVID-19. In addition, there will be one week of remote lessons after the Thanksgiving break, followed by a week of online final exams. The University of Utah will return to full-time classes, student events, and a full break in the fall.
The vast majority of lectures will take place face to face. Student Services will revert to a full-time staff. Most internships and business trips will last. Student clubs will be able to meet within the framework of labor protection instructions. The class schedule for the fall semester of 2021 will be posted on March 29, and registration will begin on April 12.

Fall plans depend on continuing vaccinations and reducing the number of infections in the community. The university will continue to follow public health guidance from state and county health departments and epidemiologists at U of U Health regarding physical distancing and masking.
