Palomar 2023 Calendar – The Palomar Faculty Federation (PFF) is open to nominations for the following PFFE Board positions through March 9, 2023: Board Member Full-time 2 part-time faculty Board Member 2 full-time faculty Board Member Board Member (full-time or part-time faculty) To nominate a peer , please fill out this form by March 9th at 3:00 am. 2023. Please use. afternoon (must include candidate's name, full-time or part-time status, email address, and specific position to be nominated) or at the PFF General Membership/Nominating Meeting on Thursday, March 9 at 3:45 p.m., in which I will attend. – From 16:00 in the same zoom room as the PFF meeting, from 16:00 on that day. Only non-executive faculty members can nominate members for non-executive positions on the Executive Committee. Only full-time faculty members can appoint full-time members to the board. You can nominate an unlimited number of eligible members for the positions listed above. Leave and scholarships are available depending on your position on the PFE Board. For more information, including the duties and responsibilities of each role, visit the PFF website. Applicants must also be PFF members in good standing. A member in good standing is defined as a member who "has submitted a valid application for membership and paid dues two months prior to the election". If you are unsure of your PFF membership status, please contact PFF General Manager Debbie Forward at debbieforward1@gmail.com. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be contacted by email by the Chair of the PFFE Elections by March 10, 2023 and informed of their nomination. Candidates must approve their nominations by 12:00 p.m. on March 16, 2023 to be eligible to vote. Your nomination eligibility and candidate eligibility will be reviewed by the PFE Executive Director before ballots are created. Elections will be conducted between April 10 and April 17, 2023 by electronic ballots sent by email to the email address registered with the PFF. There are no elections for uncontested office. Votes are still being counted, but the trend in the election results is clear. Based on the election results, we at PFF are optimistic about the future of Palomar College. In the race of our greatest concern, Dr. Judy Pataksir, the community college faculty, staff and distinguished leader who has supported Telescope, to join Pigeon's board of directors. Professor Pataksil won the election, so much so that opponents labeled Palomar DEI's work as "communist ideology," an anti-fairness that always seemed to surface when chaos hit the local school board. I was a candidate, but I lost. Voters denied his extremist views and sent a message to Palomar University that such toxic views were not welcome in an educational institution.

Jacqueline Kaiser has a large following among The Telescope's students and hopes her skills will benefit the university, students and staff. Ultimately, Michelle Raines brings a fresh perspective and hopefully good results to campus.

Ultimately, the winner represents a balanced perspective. As we all have the same goals, I am confident that the teachers union will be able to develop positive relationships with all members of the new board. PFF wishes the administrators Miyamoto and Raju the best of luck and thanks them for their contributions to our university, students, faculty and all staff. We also wish the retired Trustee Evilsizer a great life after Palomar and thank him for all the goodwill he has shown our community.

The changing of the guard took place at the PFF meeting yesterday. In gratitude for her tireless service, the PFF bid farewell to Teresa Laughlin after five years as PFF Co-President. We are also grateful to welcome Lawrence Hamilton-Lawson as our new full-time Co-Chair!
