What have you accomplished this year that you are most proud of?!! Tell me in the comments! Sometime last year I came across Blogilates on Instagram through their algorithm that suggested more fitness accounts for me as I moved from cosplay to more health and fitness. I clicked subscribe because her pages were cute, but I didn't know much about her brand. I learned more when she came out with the 90 day challenge/365 day message about all the harsh criticism and backlash she received when she first started the challenge.
Blogilates App Review
This resonated with me because I felt a similar frustration when I first decided to lose weight, get better and start running. I was told a lot of negative things that I thought were really funny. Some may have been well-intentioned, such as "You don't need to lose weight, you look great!" and "running is bad for your toes, they fall off!" Ultimately, I make the decision about what I want to do with my body and how I want it to look, whether it's for vanity, aesthetics, or just general physical and mental health. People trying to give you unsolicited information about what they think you should be doing with YOUR life and body, especially if you're trying to better yourself, are a load of nonsense. If you want to try something new, do it. Don't get discouraged if someone tells you you can't or shouldn't. Do it twice and take a picture. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or feels about YOUR body. It is important that YOU are comfortable in your own skin. (And just a disclaimer: I'm talking about healthy, sustainable habits, not eating disorders or the unhealthy toxic things people do in the fitness world. Get professional help for these issues.)
But let's get back to work. Her original post was about how she wanted to change her own eating habits to something more sustainable and make her body even more toned than it already was. She was thin to begin with and all the hate poured in accusing her of not being positive and creating a bad body image. I hate it because people think I'm skinny too, but in my own skin I always feel like there's room for improvement. I'm not trying to lose a lot of weight, but I'd rather lose weight. I just want to eat without looking like I have 3 Thanksgivings, okay?!!? And her photos before and after this challenge were beautiful! There weren't drastic changes like you see in the more serious weight loss pictures, but that's what I deal with when I yo-yo my own weight. I struggle to keep my weight at a stable level because it is so prone to feeling bloated from what I eat. Fortunately, the holidays are over and I can pick up my normal routines again.
That brings me to my next point. I accepted her #21daytone challenge she promoted for the new year. I did this for several reasons. At first I was bored in the gym. Although I was finally able to go back to the gym in September when it reopened, I find it rather monotonous and not as exciting as it used to be. I had to change something. I needed a change of pace. Second, she was promoting her new Target line and this #21daytone was a really smart way to get people to try new things for free and eventually buy her line because she makes them look so fun and adorable in her videos. I was pulled in. Her marketing worked for me. As someone who is usually skeptical of many fitness subscriptions and spending more money, this was a safe and free way for me to try out her workouts. And it was 21 days! I always think a 7 day trial is too short to know if you like something, so 21 days was perfect. And she sells it so well. 21 minutes for 21 days. Come on!

My Weekly Workouts
The app was eventually free to download and the #21daytone challenge was free to access. And even if you don't want to download the app, the calendar is free to print on her blog and all the videos are on Youtube, just look them up. The app just makes it easier to access because everything is in one place, it tracks your progress and shows you the completion percentage and stuff. She talks about ticks in every video and something about, man, those ticks feel REALLY good when you're done with your workout. I actually managed to figure it all out because I was looking for something new and interesting. And I said I want to explore new fitness areas before the new year.
And that's how I fell in love with this challenge. The funny thing is that when her Target line first came out, I didn't plan on buying much because I didn't feel like the colors matched my aesthetic since I'm usually a hot pink girl. But as the training progressed, I sold more and more videos of her using her equipment. So I ended up collecting quite a few. And I loved them so far. The only thing I didn't take was kettlebells as I thought my 5lb at home would be fine and hers are quite expensive to be honest. But oh my, those gold weights are beautiful. When I finally decided, okay, let's do it, the joke was on
