Wcs Calendar 2020 21 – The new 2020-2021 WCS calendar was approved by the District Board of Education. Blockandlist documents are available at the links.
1. There are 20 days of vocational training, 170 school days (82 in the winter semester and 88 in the spring semester) and a regular semester break in December.

2. 14 (not 6) days of pre-planning / professional training at the start of the school year. The new professional training days will prepare teachers for the transition from traditional to digital learning if schools need to close due to weather or COVID-related conditions.

4. Removed one day of Fall Break in order to increase the number of study days in the first semester. Tuesday, October 13 is the day.
5. Friday, November 20th and Friday, February 12th are early release days for Thanksgiving and President's Day.
6. December 7th to Friday December 18th have been designated as digital education days. Late November to early January is the peak of flu, so we want our family to be ready in advance for the ship's transition to digital guides.

We all want to know what the future holds for our staff and students, especially what school will be like in the fall. While it is too early to announce any specific decisions, we have spent a lot of time preparing, planning and preparing for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. With input from housing officials, health officials and other stakeholders, the Back to School Committee developed a variety of scenarios for reopening school in the fall. The examples fall neatly into three broad categories: on the one hand, open our schools to private learning; On the other hand, learning through digital learning. and in the middle it offers a hybrid of the two models. District 7 school board member Sheila Cleveland said parents in the district, part of Brentwood, are taking a week off for fall break.
"My wards are very active in taking a week off to rest. The kids need that break after each term. I care about the kids' health and I always want it. One week off and one week Thanksgiving."
Galbreath said when parents were elected, they wanted to start school a week earlier in the summer to make up for a few extra days (for five days) devoted to fall break.
Official Academic Calendar
School board member Dan Cash, District 2, praised the school's celebration of Veterans Day, a learning day at WCS where students learn about the U.S. military.
The issue of Veterans Day being a school day rather than a school holiday has been an issue among members and voters in recent years.
In a public address at a school board meeting earlier this year, Williamson County resident Gary Graham appealed to the board to make Veterans Day a school holiday.

"Going to school on that day is a great opportunity for students to learn about the ancients," Altyn said.
Elementary School Principal Denise Goodwin said students are more likely to see and learn about veterans when they come to school.
"It's fun for kids to see veterans at school that day, especially if they're family. We're happy to be at school on Veterans Day," Goodwin said.
