After a disaster, police, firefighters and medical personnel may not be able to respond to emergency medical needs. Residents and neighbors must rely on each other to survive quickly, especially in isolated communities that may be cut off from highways. CERT training can prepare you to help the community during an emergency. The next lesson starts on Tuesday, March 7, 2023!

Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center Needs Aquatic Staff! Applicants must be at least 16 years old, certified by the American Red Cross in life safety, and have a background in aquatics (pool swimming, water polo or surfing !)

Join us on Wednesday 15 February 2023 at 4pm. – 6:00 p.m. at the Founder's Room at 200 Civic Center Way in Calabasas for an afternoon of fun filled with snacks and desserts, delicious mocktails, table prizes, and performances things from the Sam & Adam Band! The event is free for Calabasas Senior Center members, $5 for Calabasas residents, and $6 for non-residents.
The results are in, and the winners of this year's calendar competition were announced during the Environment Committee meeting on December 6. 1,675 students each many are from elementary and middle schools in Calabasas. 73 teachers participated in the competition. Each winning student will receive a $25 gift certificate, and teachers will receive a $50 certificate of their choice for each package sent to the district. Copies of the calendar are distributed to all schools in Calabasas and are available in all major cities and markets.
The Department of Community Development has issued a Notice of Financial Availability (NOFA) to improve housing in the city. A total of $4,457,461 is available for the program. In response to the devastating wildfires of 2018, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded Community Development Fund – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) grants to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) to pay. Disaster areas in the state. Because Calabasas suffered significant damage from the 2018 Wolsey Fire, the city has been identified as a recipient of CDBG-DR funds. If selected, eligible developers can receive up to $3,257,461 in CDBG-DR funds and up to $1,200,000 from the Department of Housing Fund.
