Mdfr Shift Calendar 2023
Mdfr Shift Calendar 2023 – The Greensburg and Green County departments pride themselves on the ability of firefighters to rise through the ranks by earning their rank. All recruits can be found by firefighter skills and abilities. Officer positions may be elective (Dept. County) or appointed (Dept. City). We aim to offer positions based on the skills, knowledge, integrity, respect and experience of our employees.

When I was called to work, God, wherever the fire burns, give me the strength to save life, regardless of age. Help me hug a little boy before it's too late, or save an older man from this fate. Let me be alert at the slightest scream and put out the fire quickly and efficiently. I want to fulfill my vocation and give my abilities, take care of my neighbor and protect his property. And if by your will I lose my life, bless me with your hand and my beloved family from strife.

EDDY Alarcon: I am Eddy Alarcon. I am the founder of the group. I have been with the department for 26 years and this department started about 18 years ago. I met Ryan [Townsend] at [Miami-Dade Fire Rescue] Station 16 in Homestead. He's playing guitar and I think we're just playing. I said, "Dude, we should start a band."

EDDY ALARCON: And that's how it all started. We started playing our gear a little bit at the station, between calls. Our area manager, Jason Richard, heard us play. He was at the station and he said, "Brother, I'm going to show you the first show. I'm going to take you to my dad's retirement party." And that was our first game. At that time we were not known as the Firemen. His real name is Phat Eddy and the B Shift Destroyers. And guess who Phat Eddy is? This person is here. So it's really the band that's been together the longest and in my opinion the best version of the band, and we're all not just members of the band. We are friends at work, but we are also friends with each other.
RYAN TOWNSEND: It was always a requirement to be at the firehouse. It's one of our things. Not only can we be heroes in real life, but we can also be rock stars on the weekends. So it's really fun. I don't think any of us are going to stop anytime soon. I think we're going to go as far as we can and we're doing nothing but loving it. And we had a great experience. Some of these guys actually performed with Pitbull [on stage in 2020. at the Latin Grammys].

RYAN TOWNSEND: I think it's great that Pitbull is taking the time to do this and getting regular people like us involved. It's a wonderful thing.

EDDY ALARCON: So much satisfaction to be able to bring joy. You make everyone happy and dance and everything. It's a great feeling.

MIGUEL PERALTA: My name is Miguel Peralta and [I am] the new battalion commander. While Eddy may be the founder of the group, I am the leader of the group. So everyone should do as I said. Just live the dream, you know? In fact, all my childhood dreams are to be a fireman and a drummer in a band. It is not good. At just under 17 years of age. in 2005 I was employed with Adrian.
ADRIAN BALLARD: My name is Adrian Ballard and I'm the lead firefighter. I'm actually a B Shift ladder 66 gear engineer. But right now I'm on special duty, actually training. I am now a fire rescue instructor for the Miami-Dade Fire Department. I used to work late and I met [Eddy] Alarcon. I told him, "Hey, I sing." He said, "Sing me something." i sing it He said, "Come on Monday, write something." People heard it and said, "Hey, we're going to make him a great singer. That's what I do. We're like brothers, you know? We will fight. Let's argue and then tell us what to eat or something. We always have fun, but I've been watching our progress as musicians throughout our lives, how we've evolved.

Adrian Ballard, vocalist for the fire team, is a certified Ladder 66 pilot on the B shift with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
ROBERT KELLER: My name is Robert Keller. He has been working in the department for almost six years. I'm a lieutenant, I've been promoted. I got my degree in classical piano before I worked at the fire department. Any way you can express yourself with music, I think is useful, thoughtful. Of course, you can get a little more bang for your buck with more rock music.

MIGUEL PERALTA: Rob – I was his teacher during recruiting, so I actually recruited him into the band because we were looking for a keyboard player, and as soon as I found out he was a classical pianist, I was like, "So what?" Are you thinking of fooling him by playing rock?"

TROY MANESS: My name is Troy Manes. I have been a lieutenant with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for 20 years. I have been working with this group for more than 15 years, maybe 16 years. One random day I was working with the singer Adrian, I always played guitar and was in a band, and it was like, "Hey, I need another singer. So I came and tried and they let me in. It was a long and fun journey. We have all changed as people and as a family. I used to have everything myself. I'm not busy. I can always play. And now I have two children and a wife, and life is too much. But it's a great thing that I've done all my life.
