Oberlin Calendar 2023 24
Oberlin Calendar 2023 24 – Students register for classes at Banner Self Service (formerly PRESTO). Self-service poster registration is available through related functions in OberView, the college's mobile-responsive online tool that is a gateway to vital information.
Your student classification does not match the required course classification. If you need to take a course above the level you agreed to, you must contact the instructor offering the course and request permission to enroll in the system. If accepted, you can try again to register for the online course.

The class is full. If an electronic waiting list is available, you can select yourself and add yourself to the waiting list
The Ralph E. Oberlin, Jr. Residence By Alden B. Dow
In the Course Activity drop-down menu. Once you have been added to the electronic waiting list, it is your responsibility to check your email regularly. When a seat becomes available, the first student on the waiting list will be notified by email. From the time and date the email notification is sent, the student has 24 hours to decide if they need a seat. If they do not get a seat within the deadline, the seat will be offered to the second student on the waiting list.

If an electronic waitlist is not available, you can contact the instructor directly to see if they maintain a manual waitlist. If so, ask to add it. If a seat is available and you are allowed to register in the system, it is your responsibility to try to re-register for the course during the online add/drop date.
This requires the class to be missing. You should put both classes together in a Self-Service Banner. Add both courses at once and click the submit button.
The Mixtape Club
You cannot register for personal training through Self-Service Poster Registration. You must pick up a personal reading form from the Registrar's Office, complete the form for signature, and return it to the Registrar's Office by the Add/Drop date.
Report self-service registration will not allow you to skip the last class on your schedule. If you want to drop your last class to start your registration again, you must add another class and drop the previous class. If this is not intended and you wish to withdraw your last class for related reasons

To attend a semester, you must contact the Registrar's Office for information on how to proceed.
The Story Behind Oberlin College's Frank Lloyd Wright House
You cannot register for the same two courses in the same semester (except for some groups; in that case, you must go to the Registrar's Office to register). If you want to keep a course in your schedule, you can remove the course that caused the error. If you want to change the course that created the error, you must first remove the incorrect course and add the correct course.

You must ask the teacher to give you permission for the system to be able to register online. Permission must be given in the system prior to the add/drop date; After permission is extended, it is the student's responsibility to register by the deadline. Alternatively, you can pick up the add/drop card at the Registrar's Office, sign the teacher's signature, and return it to the Registrar's Office by the add/drop date.
A one-time lab is required to plan an elective course lecture. You must select a laboratory component at the same time as adding your lectures.

Invest In Your Future
If you add a course to your schedule you will be registering for more credit hours than possible. You have two options: 1. You can drop a class in your schedule to make room for the course you want to add. 2. If you are an Arts and Science student, you can apply for multiple courses. If your overload request is approved, your credit hour limit will be increased to accommodate your new class and you can register for classes online, before the add/drop date. If you are a conservatory or dual degree student, you can request an overload permit from the Conservatory Dean's Office.
There is an open seat but it is reserved for the student at the top of the waiting list. The student will be notified of the open seat and required to register for the course. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, select it in the registration summary panel

If you think you are eligible for the course, please contact the instructor. The teacher can give you special permission to take the class if he thinks you are eligible. Otherwise, you must complete the prerequisite. If the instructor agrees to allow you to take the class, they must enter a prerequisite permit into the system for you to register online.
Community Events Calendar
Seats are reserved for your major or the class is full, so you cannot register for the class. You must wait for another student in the same main stand or standing class to leave the class.

The CRN you entered does not exist. Review the Browse Class List and select the appropriate CRN. If the CRN is correct, contact the Registrar's Office.
This error will appear when you try to add a conflict (day and time) to one of your other courses. Check the course schedule to see if the course you are trying to add or another part of the conflicting course is open. If not, you can go to the Registrar's office to get a time conflict card. The coach of both scheduled volleyball courses must withdraw from the match. Completed time conflict cards will be returned to the Registrar's Office by the add/withdrawal date.

The waiting list for the class is active, but full. Most waiting lists have a size limit. You must choose another class.
The course is full, but the instructor uses an electronic waiting list. In your overview window, use the drop-down box to make a selection

Selected courses are eligible for a student waitlist through Self-Service Poster Enrollment. If all seats in that section are filled, the student will be given the option to be placed on the waiting list for that section. The waiting list is first come, first served and fully automated.

Students do not need to email, call, or visit faculty or academic departments to get on the waitlist for courses listed through self-service flag registration. Courses that do not qualify for listing through Self-Service Banner Enrollment must contact a faculty member or department.

Be sure to read all of this information so that you are ready to add yourself to the waiting list, if necessary. Make sure your email address is active to be notified of your waitlist status.
When a student tries to register for a full course, they are told that the course is closed. If this is a course that allows for Self-Service Poster listing, the student can change the course status to **Pending** in their summary window and then click Submit to process the request.

When a seat becomes available, the first student on the waiting list will be notified via their email account. From the time and date the email notification is sent, students usually have 24 hours* to decide whether they want a seat or enroll. If they do not get a seat within the deadline, the seat will be offered to the second student on the waiting list.
*Registration hours for open seats are subject to change as the add/drop date approaches. Please check the email notification for the full schedule before you need to act.

The limit is set at 99. Students can see their position on the waiting list and, therefore, decide if they have a good chance of getting into the course. If a course has only 15 seats and the student waiting list capacity is 62, their chances are not as good as they would be if the course had 40 seats.

Next to the class header is an arrow; Click on the arrow to drop down the class information. At that time, you will see your waitlist status number.

Can a student go on the waiting list for the lab portion of a science course if there are still open seats in the lecture portion?
