Usm Calendar 2023 – HATTIESBURG, Miss. () – Southern Miss athletics are heading into the Sun Belt Conference with the release of their 2022 football schedule Tuesday morning.

According to the university, the Golden Eagles will play road games in five different states, including a prime-time game on Thursday against the defending Sun Belt Conference champion Louisiana State Cajuns.

Next Saturday, Coach Will Hall and the team will travel to South Florida for the school's first contest against the University of Miami Hurricanes on September 10th at Hard Rock Stadium.

USM opens the non-conference portion of its home schedule against Northwestern State on Sept. 17 before starting the battle for the Bell rivalry with Tulane University on Sept. 24 at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans.

After a bye week, Southern Miss opens its first Sun Belt season with a trip to Tri University on Oct. 8, beginning a streak of eight straight conference games to end the regular season.

For the first time since 2007, USM will host Arkansas State University after Tri on Oct. 15 before traveling to San Marcos for an Oct. 22 game against Texas State University, making it the Golden Eagles' first home game in the Sun Belt.

Southern Miss will return home to begin the third-longest hitting streak in school history when Louisiana hosts The Lucknow for its only game on Thursday night, Oct. 27. The two teams have played 52 games, with USM holding a 40-11 record.

The month of November begins with the first of a pair of meetings when the Golden Eagles host Georgia State University in Hattiesburg on Nov. 5 and take on Coastal Carolina on Nov. 12 for their first trip to South Carolina in 12 seasons. . .

USM returns home for its final home game against South Alabama on Nov. 19 before concluding the regular season on Nov. 26 at Louisiana State University-Monroe.

Usm Tuition Program Seeks Military Service Members

The 12-game schedule, split into six home and away games, was released by Conference USA last week. The start/television time will be announced at a later date

The Golden Eagles hosted regional rival University of South Alabama for the first time at Roberts Stadium in the 104th football campaign for the fifth time in the past five years.

Next weekend, the Jaguars will be followed by a Conference USA opener against longtime rival Louisiana Tech.

The Golden Eagles conclude their three-week homestand by welcoming Jackson State University to Hattiesburg for the second time in three seasons.

USM will visit Auburn University for the first time next week on Sept. 26 and will be away from Hattiesburg on Oct. 3, traveling to Denton, Texas to face C-US foe University of North Texas.

There are four more games in October, with Florida Atlantic University (Oct. 10) and Rice University (Oct. 31) sandwiched between them.

USM will travel to the University of Texas on October 17 for the C-US Tournament on October 24.

The Golden Eagles will have their only open week on Nov. 7 before wrapping up C-US games at Western Kentucky University (Nov. 14), University of Texas San Antonio (Nov. 21) and Univ. Alabama-Birmingham (November 28).

UAB's trip will likely end at USM's historic but cavernous Legion Field. The Blazers are expected to open their new home football complex in 2021

Sun Belt Releases 2022 23 Women's Basketball Conference Schedule

With a 14-team league in 2020, each team will once again play eight conference games with four non-league contests. The 2020 lineup consists of seven teams from the East Division and seven teams from the West Division.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Florida International University, Marshall University, Tennessee State University, Old Dominion University, FAU and WKU make up the East Division.

Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, USM, UAB, UTEP and UTSA make up the West Division. Each school plays once in each division in its division, playing two crossover opponents from opposite divisions.

The 16th annual Conference USA Championship, pitting the East and West division champions against each other, is set for Saturday, December 5.
