Rice University 2023 Calendar – High School Girls: Join us for a fun day of inspiring crafts and meet some amazing students!
Every girl (or group of girls) must have an adult mentor – a teacher, parent or mentor. Each adult can bring up to 10 girls. Instead of choosing individual workshops, each girl (or group of girls) chooses an "impact path" and receives two practical workshops and a group discussion related to this path. .

We are pleased to announce that our 2022 keynote speaker will be Dr. Nicola (Nicky) Fox, Chief of the Heliophysics Division at NASA Headquarters. He was previously a research scientist at Johns Hopkins University and principal scientist for the Parker Solar Probe.

Since high school is the age when girls lose interest in science, Sally Ride asked us to work with them to create a festival that would excite and motivate them. As a result, Rice University began hosting the annual Sally Ride Science Festival in 2006. Sally Ride was the first speaker and crowned the rice event as the biggest and best of her events. Each annual meeting includes a street market, an inspiring lecture by an astronaut, and thirty scientific and technical workshops (two workshops each led by students).
The festival, which began in 2016, is called "Reach for the Stars! STEM Festival," and is supported by the Ride Family Foundation and the Rice Institute, with significant funding from Cheniere and many other donors. . Its admissions statistics make Rice University one of the 50 most competitive schools for undergraduate admissions worldwide. As is the case with all top schools, acceptance rates at Rice University have continued to decline over the past 8 years and will likely continue to do so in the future.

Southern Miss Announces 2021 22 Basketball Schedule
The class of 2024 is one of the most challenging years to get into Rice University. For the Class of 2024, 23,443 students applied to Rice University, of which 2,346 students were accepted, resulting in an overall acceptance rate of 10%. The total number of applications decreased by 13.4% last year (2023 to 2024) from 27,084 to 23,443.
For the Class of 2019, 385 students entered the early admissions process. A total of 2,042 early applications were received, yielding an early acceptance rate of 18.9%. Early applications fell by 22.3% last year (2023 to 2024) from 2,628 to 2,042.

In 1891, the William Marsh Rice Institute for the Advancement of Literature and Science was authorized and dedicated as a gift to the city of Houston, Texas, by William Marsh Rice. Work on the new university began after Rice's death, and it opened in 1912. Half Day In Houston: Uncover Secrets At Rice University
Rice University has many different traditions, most of which revolve around "Sammy." In 1917, a large canvas with Rice's mascot (an owl) disappeared, so Rice's students hired a private investigator to find the missing piece. It turned out that the Texas A&M students had been kidnapped.
